Servathon! How to sign up!

Join our Servathon 2008 Team and help us support the cause! Let's make an impact on DC Public Schools by rallying together and delivering critical service needed in a fun and exciting marathon day of service.

On Saturday, May 3, 2008, please join me and 3,000+ volunteers in the Greater Washington region’s largest day of service by participating in Servathon 2008! We would love to have you join us in serving the community.

Servathon is an event sponsored by Greater DC Cares that brings out over 3,000 volunteers in just one day! This year, Servathon will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, and, in support of efforts to revitalize the DC Public Schools, all 39 project sites will be at DCPS schools. In total, we expect to provide over $400,000 worth of services and supplies to these schools in just 5 hours! We will be painting, cleaning, landscaping, and revitalizing DC Public Schools from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. We will then all gather for an after party full of fun, prizes, inspiration, beer and food from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.! This is a great opportunity to connect with volunteers and to give back to our DC community.

Registering is simple! Just follow the steps below:

2) Click Register Now
3) Click Register Here
4) Accept the Volunteer Waiver
5) Click Join a Team
6) Select the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mt. Vernon Team from the drop-down menu
7) Add your personal contact information and you will be registered!

If you aren’t available to volunteer on May 3rd, you can still support my efforts by making a donation to improve non-profits and schools in the region throughout the year. No donation is too small!

Your support of:

• $25 will help paint an elementary school classroom
• $50 will help landscape the grounds of a high school
• $150 will support a resume development training for students and parents
• $500 will buy a new piece of playground equipment
• $1,000 will help build a computer lab for students

By making a donation, you make it possible for Greater DC Cares to provide services and programs to volunteers, nonprofits and public schools for free of charge on May 3rd and throughout the rest of the year!
